Russia will have stopped us and the EU weapons supplies to Ukraine during the ceasefire

Russia would require us to stop and European weapons supplies to Ukraine during any potential ceasefire, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with ABC News.

“Otherwise, it will be an advantage for Ukraine. Ukraine will continue their overall mobilization, bringing new troops to (the) front line,” said Mr Peskov.

“Ukraine will use this period to train new military staff and to rest their existing ones. So why should we give such a benefit to Ukraine?”

Trump calls Ukraine and Russia to ‘get this war ended’

The European leaders’ visits to Kyiv for conversations with the Ukrainians come in the middle of a push from the White House for a decision for the Ukraine-Russia war.

US President Donald Trump has been pushing for a quick peace deal and patched bond with Kyiv to sign a mineral resource agreement that paves the way for US investment in the country.

On Friday, Mr. Trump said he wanted Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymy Zelensky to “get this war ended.”

He was asked what his message to Mr. Putin would be in the wake of a warning from the US Embassy in Kiev about a “potentially significant” air strike in the coming days.

He replied, “I have a message to both parties: Get this war ended. Get this stupid war done. It’s my message to both of them”.

There has been a tangible shift in the tone of Mr. Trump, which has signaled growing frustration with Vladimir Putin’s footing over a ceasefire and Russia’s transformation of its demand for a solution.

Mr. Trump has threatened to intensify sanctions against Russia, but he has also said he could give up peace efforts if there is no breakthrough. He called on Thursday to a 30-day ceasefire, and Mr. Zelensky said he would be ready to implement it right away.

The White House said that Mr. Trump and Mr. Zelensky had a “very good and productive” invitation on Thursday.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted as saying Friday that Russia supports the implementation of a 30-day ceasefire in the conflict, but only with proper consideration of “nuances”.
