Pope Leo XIV will make a “Darn Good Pope”, New York’s Cardinal Timothy Dolan has said when the first American-born Pontiff led his first fair as leader of the Catholic Church.
“We have a pope, and I’m just as honored as a priest as a disciple of Jesus Christ, as a child of God, as a faithful Catholic, I hope, as a priest, bishop and cardinal, to have been a big part of it. And I think you are all excited too,” Dolan said in a video sent to social media.
Leo XIV, formerly Robert Prevost, was chosen as the leader of the Catholic Church, after more than two -thirds of Cardinals voted for him to succeed the late Pope Francis.
“I just hope you feel it,” Dolan said. “We have a pope … and take my word for it, he is a good good.”
New York Cardinal added that he thinks Leo will try to build bridges with all world leaders, including US President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, the festivities of Leo swept across the country as American Cardinals celebrated his choice by blasting “born in the US” and “American Pie.”
New Pope Leo is gentle, calm and unifying, says the British Cardinal
The new pope is a “citizen of the world,” and the moment he accepted his choice within the secret conclav meeting, brought “Elation,” a cardinal that was there has said.
The leader of Catholics in England and Wales, Cardinal Vincent Nichols, talked about a “quite remarkable spirit of fraternity” in the time he and 132 others were sequenced away from the world to choose the new leader.
Cardinal Nichols, who is the Archbishop of Westminster, described Pope Leo XIV as gentle and calm, as well as crucial and unifying.
He said to journalists in Rome: “He has been a teacher, he has been a bishop’s bishop, he has been a member of the Roman Curia.
“It is a combination of talents that I think when it emerged, and we had reflected on the life of the church, it made it pretty clear that here was a man who brought the right depth and breadth of experience to the papacy.”

Real Conclave was nothing like the movie, says Kardinal
The Conlamer to choose Pope Leo XIV was “brotherly” in the atmosphere without the high drama of the award -winning film of the same name, says a cardinal on the inside.
Conclave, released late in last year only months before the real secret encounter with cardinals in Rome this week, imagined the excitement, bureaucracy, twists and turns behind the secret meeting to elect a new leader of the Catholic Church.
But Cardinal Vincent Nichols, leader of Catholics in England and Wales, who participated in his first Conclave, insisted that reality could not have been further away from the silver screen drama.

Sketch: Woke Pope? Trump is counting on a ‘liberal’ American leader, he can’t the trash talk
Burned Donald Trump’s ears when the Cardinals were gathered in Conclave by the Sistine Chapel? Is it inconceivable that the president’s name was uttered in rushed tones in a corner of the historical shrine under Michelangelo’s Adam to swing a vote in favor of an American?
Of course, it is a liberal fantasy to believe that Pope Leo XIV was chosen as leader of the old Catholic Church to deal with the fleeting earthly man in the White House, but President Trump will never have to count on a colleague America, a leader on the world scene who has spoken out of his politics and will probably continue to do so from the only bull -pulpit to compete Desk that writes Richard Hall.
