President Donald Trump attended the FIFA Club World Cup final on Sunday afternoon (July 13) on the first anniversary of the murder attempt he survived in Butler, Pennsylvania, while campaigning in the 2024 election.
President and First Lady Melania Trump arrived in Marine One and made a flight of the 80,000-person metlife stadium in New Jersey before taking their seats next to FIFA president Gianni Infantino and his wife Leena Al Ashqar.
Others in the box along with Trumps were American court lawyer Pam Bondi, Transport Secretary Sean Duffy, Homeland Security Chief Kristi Noem, Media Mogul Rupert Murdoch and former NFL star Tom Brady.

Trump later presented winners Chelsea with their trophy.

Apart from taking part in the football game, Trump had no specific public plans to observe the date of his attempt at assault, though he talked about it during a taped Fox News Channel interview with her daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, who was sent on her Saturday night show, My perception.
“Well, it was unforgettable,” Trump told her daughter-in-law in their Saturday night interview. “I didn’t know exactly what was going on. I was beaten. There’s no question about it. And fortunately I came down quickly. People scream and I came down quickly, fortunately because I think they shot eight bullets.”
During the trial of Trump’s life on July 13, 2024, the gunman fired eight shots, one of whom grazed the ear of the then presidential candidate. Trump was bleeding so much from the ear wounded that the top helpers thought he had been shot “four or five” times, according to a new book.
Retired firefighter Corey Comeratore, a participant in the crowd, was killed and two others were injured. A Secret Service Counter Sniper opened fire on the shooter, 20-year-old Matthew Crooks and killed him.

That day, an already chaotic race shook for the White House and solidified Trump’s iconic status in his party and beyond.
On Sunday, Trump and First Lady Melania Trump from their Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, traveled to East Rutherford, 40 miles (64 kilometers) to see the final of the American host tournament between Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea FC at Metlife Stadium.
Today’s match gives Trump a preview of the world’s leading football tournament, which North America hosts next year.
The president, who maintains a warm relationship with Infantino, has said he is planning to participate in several matches in the World Cup tournament next year.
Sports events have been the main reason for Trump’s trips in the United States since accession this year. In addition to his visit to the weekend to today’s final, he attended the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Daytona 500 in Florida, UFC fights in Miami and Newark, New Jersey and NCAA Wrestling Championships in Philadelphia.

A number of secret service accidents have been revealed in a new report on one year anniversary of the murder attempt.
The Government’s Responsibility Office composed the report at the request of Iowa -Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, who said in a statement that what happened at Trump’s Rally on July 13, 2024, came after several “bad decisions and bureaucratic disabilities.”
The agency “failed to implement security measures” that could have prevented the murder attempt, the new GAO report states.
Grassley’s office released the report on Saturday, hours before the one -year mark. It highlighted several deficiencies at Secret Service, and noticed greater communication accidents as well as a “lack of specific and complete guidance” for the agents at the rally.
The report found that senior officials of the agency were aware of a possible threat to Trump before the rally, Politico noted. However, the threat was “not specific to July 13 -Rally or gunman.”
Secret service and local law enforcement were “unaware of the threat” because of the agency’s “muted practice to share classified threat information.”

In his interview with Lara Trump, Trump insisted on Secret Service: “I have great confidence in these people.”
“They should have had someone in the building [from where the shooter fired]It was a mistake, ”he said.
“They should have had communication with the local police; they were not bound in and they should have been bound in. So mistakes were made … but I was pleased with regard to the bigger plot, the bigger plot.”
“And I have great confidence in these people. I know the people. And they are very talented, very talented. But they had a bad day. And I think they will admit it. They had a tough day.”
The shooter’s motivations still remain something of a mystery.
