About this cfp
Amazon’s Sustainability Survey Program Invite Proposals for Innovative Projects that Merge Machine Learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies to support carbon image strategies. This call seeks to finance projects that address the challenges associated with generation consists of, transparent and chorus carbon measurements.
The purpose of this initiative is to denote the comparability of LCAs in the field of manufacture, transport and agricultural sectors. The key of this effort is the supply of data sets, methodologies and tools that can effectively validate that ensure, process streams and emission factors are used uniformly across assessments. This focus recognizes the critical need for verifiable data and assumptions that supportable decision -making processes. Suggestions need to tackle challenges in creating available solutions that ensure that LCA data can easily be won and validated by stakeholders, which strengthens confidence in sustainability metrics and facilitates more informed decisions. Soposals should clearly formulate how they will provide concrete, practical outputs, such as code and data, and emphasize Méchanisms to ensure data intestine and consisens in LCA practice.
Timeline
Submission period: March 27 to 7 May 2024 (23:59 Pacific Time).
Designation letters are sent out August 2024.
Assignment information
Selected Main sub -subsequently (PIS) may receive the following:
- Unlimited funds from $ 50,000 to $ 100,000
- AWS -Credits: Up to $ 40,000
- Training resources, included AWS tutorials and practical sessions with Amazon scientists and engineers
Prizes are structured as a year of unobstructed gifts. The budget must include a list of expired costs specified in the USD and should not include administrative costs. The final pricing will be determined by the pricing panel.
Requirements for eligibility
Open to scientists all over the world. Suggestions must focus on the use of ML/AI to improve LCA methodologies or data sets with emphasis on scale, generalizability and open source distribution.
Please give to the ARA program rules on the FAQ page.
Sowers
Sopals must be prepared the register for the proposal’s template. To submit a proposal to this CFP, you must also include the following information:
- Description of the proposed solution and its innovative aspects
- Explanation of how the project addresses the specified challenges
- Plan for the development and implementation of the methodology or data set
- Potential influence on sustainability in the targeted sectors
- Inclusion of category rules across environmental product declarations and product environmentprints where appropriate
- List of open source tools you plan to contribute to.
- List of AWS ML tools you want to use.
Selection criteria
Lakes will be honored by a panel of experts in machine, LCA and maintenance. Lakes are evaluated at the following:
- IMMODATE AND SUPPOSIBLE APPAINTEE ON THE CARBLE LAWS (ie reduction of greenhouse gases)
- Practical and the scalibility of the solutions that can support the measurement of validations
- Feasibility and clarity in the proposed approach
- Potential for widespread adoption and implementation
- Feasibility for open source
Expectations from Contaper
To the extent considered reasonable, the allocation should recognize the support of the ARA. Award Contaper will inform ARA of publications, presentations, code and data reading, blogs/social media posts and other talking obligations that refer to the results of the supported research or the award. Award Habs is expected to provide updates and feedback to the ARA through research or reports on the status of their research. Award Hétucuis will have an opportunity to work with ARA an informative state of the amazed project that can be used to generate visibility for their institutions and ARA.
