Bid to turn the postponement of local elections defeated in the gentlemen
The efforts to reverse the suspension of local elections in England have been defeated in the House of Lords.
Nine councils have had their elections delayed by one year while the government reorganizes the local government.
In a rare move, two so -called deadly movements of the liberal Democrats and the Green Party in the upper chamber were proposed in an attempt to keep local elections planned for this May.
The postponement of elections was described as “anti-democratic” by the liberal Democrats before comrades voted 63 to 163, majority 100, to defeat the party’s deadly movement.

Farage and Reform UK does not participate in the Anti-Brexit debate
Nigel Farage and Reform UK have come under fire not to participate in a debate in parliament calling on the UK to join the EU.
Reform British leader and the party’s MPs were not present to defend Britain’s withdrawal from the EU, while critics participated in massively for demanding closer ties to Europe.
And a MP, Liberal Democrat Europe spokesman James Maccleary, said “Where is the honorary member for Clacton [Mr Farage]? ”.
“According to Hansard, since his election in July, he has mentioned Brexit only twice,” Mr Maccleary pointed out.
“Surely, if this Brexit agreement was the monumental success he and others had promised, would he remind us of no end?”

When is the Spring Declaration and what do we know so far?
Chancellor Rachel Reeves will speak Wednesday to make the spring declaration – with a mixture of problematic themes and opportunities to cover as the UK tries to promote economic growth, but also struggles with sky -high borrowing.
To pledge no more tax increases leave only a few options for Mrs. Reeves. These are primarily around redistributions or cut even more expenses – and it is the latter that appear to be most likely to happen after major tax increases as late as October.
While the government is desperate after avoiding comparisons to the still fresh-in-memory-saving policy, the fact that it is that is cutting into public spending seems to be Mrs. Reeves’ best way to balance books.
