Republicans in the House of Representatives blocked an attempt by Democrats to release files related to Jeffrey Epstein on Tuesday afternoon in a chaotic vote.
Tuesday tried rep. RO KHANNA (D-CA) to get a vote on the house base for his legislation that would have released files about the deceased disgraceful financier who died of suicide in prison after being arrested on charges of sex trade with underage girls. It came after Khanna’s amendments failed in House Rules Committee on Monday.
Through some house rules, Khanna was able to vote to include her proposal as a change of other non-related bills. The house base stopped soon. The vote remained open for more than half an hour, a handful of Republicans fail to vote. In the end, he lost the chance to add his proposal as a change with a single vote, 211-210.
“We will continue to fight to get this thing released,” Khanna told The independent.

Nine Republicans failed to vote, while two Democrats did not vote on the legislation.
Chaos and confusion on the floor reflected the larger conundrum Republicans facing Epstein. For the past few years, Republicans in Congress have often called for the release of the files related to his charges and his trade in young women.
It fell apart last week when the Ministry of Justice and the FBI determined that there was no evidence that Epstein was dealing with a huge extortion conspiracy and that there was no “client list” and that Epstein probably killed himself when he was in prison.
It caused many in the larger magazine sphere to accuse the lawyer Pam Bondi for participating in a cover. But Trump defended Bondi on the truth social and said to “Let Pam Bondi do her job – she’s amazing.”
Trump and Epstein also enjoyed a friendship for many years, although there is no evidence that Trump was engaged in sexual mismatch with the young women and girls with whom Epstein was dealing.
“It is noteworthy that everyone, including the president on the Republican side, was so determined and firm by releasing the Epstein files, and then somehow, suddenly they decide they do not want transparency,” Rep said. Dan Goldman (D-NY) to The independent. “And with all the different relations between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein and the fact that Pam Bondi has proven to be essentially an arm of Donald Trump’s personal interests, it is clear that Donald Trump intervened to hide and hide the Epstein files.”
Democrats for their part seemed to rejoice in the chaos. Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), who recently became the top Democrat of the House Oversight Committee, said Republicans were hypocrites.

“Obviously, they hide something, clearly hides Donald Trump something,” he said The independent. “This was never our problem. We have been focused on other things, but they have been obsessed with it, and now that they clearly hide something, I think it is in the public interest we have to release them.”
Garcia took over the Supervisory Committee last month after Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) dead.
He recently defeated Jasmine Crockett from Texas for the place. Both Crockett and Garcia are more combating than their older Democratic predecessors and sees it as their job to take the fight to Republicans after Trump’s victory.
Garcia said that if the Democrats re -enter the majority, they would “ask the correct questions” and issue subpoena of proper defamation of information from the Epstein case.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) expressed it mute: “They are an accomplice.”
