King Charles is to temporarily “pause” his cancer treatment while he takes part in a high-profile overseas visit after being given the green light by doctors, according to reports.
The 75-year-old monarch, who will visit Queen Camilla in nine days, was first diagnosed with an unknown form of cancer earlier this year following a routine procedure to treat an enlarged prostate.
It is understood the monarch will continue her treatment on her return from Australia and Samoa after an 11-day trip. His doctor will accompany him on the most significant overseas trip he has undertaken since his diagnosis.
Scheduled engagements for the tour include a visit to the Australian War Memorial and a fleet review of the Royal Australian Navy at Sydney Harbour.
Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, debuted a new look during a surprise appearance at a children’s hospital in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Meghan, 43, stepped out at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles 2024 Gala on Saturday (October 3) in a red dress she previously wore to the 2021 New York Salute to Freedom Gala.
She paired the dress with a never-before-seen beach waves hairstyle – typically achieved by letting the hair dry into its natural curls.
The independent has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.

King misses Cop29 climate summit in Azerbaijan
The king will not attend the Cop29 climate summit, which Azerbaijan is hosting next month, it is understood.
Charles has long campaigned on environmental issues, but will be absent from the UN meeting to be held in the oil-rich state from November 11 to 22.
The head of state has been undergoing treatment for an unknown form of cancer since the beginning of the year, and the global climate conference begins just over two weeks after the King and Queen Camilla’s long-distance trip to Australia and Samoa ends.
Charles missed Cop27 in 2022, the first climate change summit of his reign, after a “unanimous agreement” was reached for the king not to attend the gathering in Egypt after his office sought advice from Liz Truss’s government .
But the following year, the head of state gave a speech on the opening day of Cop28 in Dubai, warning delegates that the world remains “terribly off track” on key climate targets and calling for meaningful change.

Duchy of Cornwall town hit with serious complaints – ‘There are rats everywhere’
A city built to King Charles’s specifications of an idealized society suffers from a serious waste collection problem.
Residents of Poundbury, Dorset, which is built on land in the Duchy of Cornwall, have now spoken out in a bid to resolve the issue and are appealing directly to the King.
A local told The telegraph: “There are rats everywhere and the smell is terrible. No one seems bothered.”
Another said the king “would be appalled” and compared the development, which is due to be completed by 2026, to a “third world country”.
Explaining the root of the problem, a third added: “The number of bins is not sufficient, there needs to be another waste and recycling point. It’s carnage around Christmas with rubbish everywhere.”
