A shooting game that allegedly thought he was ill from the Covid-19 vaccine has died after opening fire at Emory University, near the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Headquarters and wounded at least one police officer.

Kaos unfolded on an Atlanta Street corner on Friday afternoon when shooting spraying rang out on a cvs on campus. The lonely shooting game fired several rounds through the windows of the CDC building across the street.

Mayor Andre Dickens said at a press conference on Friday night that there were 92 children in a daycare on campus and they are safe.

Dickens told the parents of these daycare children, “We will make sure you are reunited with them as soon as possible.”

“I know your heart is just really, really sore, but the good news is none of them have been hurt and we get you connected to you, to your loved ones really soon,” he added.

Police believe the shooter was either ill or thought he was ill and accused the Covid-19 shot, a law enforcement officer told CNN.

The shooter was found dead on the second floor of the CVS, according to authorities. He had been hit by shots, but it is not clear if it was self -inflicted.

A police officer was critically wounded during the shooting and taken to the hospital for treatment, according to officials.

While there was no longer a threat to society, police warned people on Friday night to avoid the area, “as the scene remains active and law enforcement continues its investigation.”

Employees of a nearby Deli, General Muir’s, Heard Gunshots, Brandy Giraldo, Deli’s Chief Operating Officer, told Associated Press.

“It sounded like fireworks that went out, one just after another,” she said.

A CVS spokesman said no one inside the Emory Point store was injured in the shooting.

“We are working with the Atlanta Police Department as it is investigating a shooting near our Emory Point store,” the spokesman told NBC News. “All colleagues, customers and patients are safe. The store is currently closed and opened again when the scene is cleared.”

A reporter for Atlanta Journal-Constitution Who was on stage wrote on X that more than 50 police cars were present and many officers wore rifles and tactical gear.

The university announced that a shelter had been lifted on the site that had been lifted around 10 p.m. 18:30 ET.

“An emergency in police continues at Emory Atlanta -Campus on Emory Point. Avoid the area,” reads an X post.

Dickens condemned violence and said, “Mass shoots, active shooting scenarios should not become the norm.”

“For people with these high-powered weapons that may have mental challenges, or those with high-driven weapons and are angry when choosing to use these weapons in a way that harms more people we have to put an end to it in our society,” he said.

Senator Raphael Warnock, a Republican in Georgia, wrote on X, ”I monitor the active shooting game in Emory closely.

“I pray for the officer who was injured and all students and faculties. I am destroyed by the fact that our society is facing yet another tragedy with pistold.”

Representative Mike Collins, a Republican in Georgia, wrote: “Students at Emory, you need to cover cover. Pray for a quick ending to this threat.”

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr wrote: “We are horrified by the news of Emory University and ask for security throughout the campus community.

“We are ready to help our law enforcement partners with what they may need.”
